Before the bifurcation and after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, the Heritage Foods owned by the family of Chandrababu Naidu has been enjoying monopoly in the Dairy and other food products industry. They have their units across both states.
There is also a strong grapevine that the government run Vijaya Dairy was also deliberately weakened to give the market to Heritage. But now, there is a chance that Heritage Foods will be getting a good challenge.
This is in the form of Kakatiya Foods which is being run by the Telangana government. Currently, they are into export of organic food products but sources say they are also planning to come up with products that will give a tough fight to Heritage’s existence.
