King Nagarjuna and Natural Star Nani have been completely impressed with the script of Devadas and decided to come on to the board. Sriram Aditya directed this comic entertainer which released all over today. Aakanksha Singh and Rashmika Mandanna are the heroines. Manisharma’s music album is already topping the music charts and prestigious banner Vyjayanthi Movies bankrolled the film. Here is the complete review of Devadas:
Story:
Devadas is all about Deva (Nagarjuna), a mafia don and Dasu (Nani), an innocent doctor by profession. In a shocking incident they meet each other and turn thick friends. Dasu after hearing to the one sided love story of Deva decides to change him through his girlfriend Jahnavi (Aakanksha Singh). He even falls in love with Pooja (Rashmika Mandanna) and the rest of Devadas is all the efforts of Dasu and how the duo gets seperated. What happens next forms the story of Devadas.
Positives:
Nagarjuna and Nani
Rib tickling entertainment
Decent first half
Two songs
Cinematography
Negatives:
Story
Screenplay and Direction
Boring and flat second half
Predictable climax
Performances:
Nagarjuna overplayed in the role of Deva and dominated the film well. He has been fit and fabulous in the assignment and is a treat to watch. His chemistry with Nani has been outstanding. Nani as usual has been outstanding with his comic timing and Dasu character is a perfect match for the actor. In a new look, Nani performed to the core. Aakanksha Singh is here to stay and she performed well in all the episodes. Rashmika Mandanna picks up one more challenging role and her chemistry with Nani should be specially mentioned. Kunal Kapoor and Sarath Kumar played well in their rugged roles. Murali Sharma, Naresh, Naveen Chandra and Vennela Kishore looked good in their roles.
Devadas has no exciting plot and it is the entertainment along with the performances by the lead actors that drives the film. The screenplay and dialogues look dull and pale. Couple of songs have been well presented on screen and the background score looks just ok. The cinematography work should be appreciated well and the production values have been grand. Sriram Aditya fails one more time in delivering a hit product.
Final Word:
Devadas offers nothing new and interesting in terms of content. It is Nagarjuna and Nani who drives the film forward. Decent performances and average stuff.
