One small film that caught everyone’s attention in the recent times is Palasa 1978. Karuna Kumar directed the film and Dhyan Atluri bankrolled the film. Rakshit, Nakshatra, Vijay Rama Raju, Thiru, Laxman Meesala played the lead roles. The film is releasing all over today and here is the complete review of Palasa 1978:

Story:

Palasa 1978 is the story that happens in a village Palasa in Srikakulam district. Mohan Rao (Rakshit) and his family take on Pedda Shavukar and Chinna Shavukar who take the upper hand in the village with caste and money. Palasa 1978 is all about the battle between them and about the cold-blooded drama. Watch Palasa 1978 to know about the complete story.

Positives:

Performances
First Half
Rustic Presentation

Negatives:

Second Half
Climax
Routine Plot

Performances:

Rakshit plays the lead role and he does a decent job in the film. It is his intense looks that take the film forward. He needs to improve a lot in all the ways to make himself a subtle actor. Nakshatra does her part well though her character has nothing new and interesting on-screen. Raghu Kunche is a surprise for Palasa 1978 and he has been exceptional right from his performance to the accent. He fits well in the role. All the other actors did their parts well.

Palasa 1978 is an honest attempt and is well penned. The presentation looks rustic and it will not appeal to everyone. The screenplay and dialogues should have been better. The music has a folk touch suiting the local tunes and it is done well. Raghu Kunche does a decent job with the background score for Palasa 1978. The production values look decent and the cinematography work should be mentioned. The editing is not crisp and some of the episodes look lengthy. Karuna Kumar comes with an intense and raw film on his debut. He is partially successful.

Verdict:

Palasa 1978 is raw, realistic and hard-hitting, but it will not appeal to everyone because of the theme.
