Penguin Movie Review: Falls short of expectations

June 20, 2020 at 3:20 am

National-award winning actress Keerthy Suresh completed a women-centric film titled Penguin. The movie was slated for summer release but with the coronavirus pandemic, the film released through the digital platform Amazon Prime today. Easwar Karthic is the director and Stone Bench Films, Passion Studios produced the film. The response is completely mixed because of the poor and boring second half. The first half of Penguin is loaded with enough thrills and the narration looks interesting.

But the second half of the film looks deviated and dragged. The major plot has been sidelined and the climax is completely predictable. The music, background score and cinematography work are the major assets. The makers should have taken enough care on the casting and most of the actors had no scope to perform. Keerthy Suresh carried the entire film on her shoulders and her performance is a treat to watch as a struggling mother. Penguin is a film that falls short of the expectations but it makes a one-time watch because of Keerthy’s performance and the decent first half.
