Nawab Movie Review

Master story teller Mani Ratnam who is yet to get his break in the recent years is quite confident on his recent outing Nawab. The film released all over today between huge expectations. Prakash Raj, Jayasudha, Arvind Swamy, Jyothika, Vijay Sethupati, Arun Vijay, Aishwarya Rajesh and Aditi Rao Hydari are the lead actors in this action thriller. AR Rahman;s music is already a hit and Madras Talkies, Lyca Productions bankrolled this action thriller. Here is the complete review of the film:

Story:

Nawab is all about Senapathi (Prakash Raj), a mafia kingpin. His sons Varadha (Aravind Swamy) Thyagu (Arun Vijay) and Ethi (Simbu) eagerly wait for the retirement of Senapathi to grab the chair and lead the mafia world. In a shocking incident, Senapathi passes away after which the family witnesses huge splits. The rest of Nawab is all about the mystery behind Senapathi’s death and who leads the show and takes the seat. Watch Nawab to know about the complete story.

Positives:

Performances
Cinematography
Some thrilling episodes
Twists

Negatives:

Boring narration
Poor second half
Tamil nativity
Lack of commercial aspects

Performances:

Aravind Swamy tops the show and he has been natural in the assigned role. As a struggling brother, Aravind performed well and he excelled in the action episodes. Arun Vijay has been spotted performing some dare delvil stunts in the film. He showed different variations with perfection throughout the film. Simbu is a treat to watch and he was thoroughly entertaining. Prakash Raj had a limited role and he was perfect. Jyothika, Aishwarya Rajesh and Aditi Rao Hydari did justice for their roles. All the other actors have been decent.

The story of Nawab looks good and reminds us about the classics of Mani Ratnam. The screenplay and dialogues have been just ok. The cinematography work has been a treat and should be well appreciated. The music and background score have been decent. The production values make the film look grand and the editing has been good. Mani Ratnam has been decent with his abilities and Nawab ends up as an impressive thriller and will impress a section of audience.

Verdict:

Nawab is one more disappointment from Mani Ratnam and will end up impressing a section of audience. The performances by the lead actors and the twists will be appreciated.
