Veteran director Mani Ratnam is on a break and is working on his next film Ponniyin Selvan, a periodic drama that will be made on a lavish scale. Ponniyin Selvan will be made in all the languages and Mani Ratnam is roping in pan Indian stars for the project. Top actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan already signed the film and the latest news we hear is that she will be seen in a dual role in this periodic film.
Aish will be seen playing Nandini, wife of Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar, the second most powerful person in the Chola kingdom and Mandakini Devi aka Singala Naachiyaar, the mother of Nandini. She will be seen playing the daughter and mother roles in this film. The film also features Chiyaan Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Mohan Babu, Anushka Shetty, Amala Paul, Keerthy Suresh in other crucial roles. The film starts rolling during the end of this year.
