Superstar Rajinikanth and sensational director Shankar teamed up for the third time after Shivaji and Robo for 2.0 which is named as the sequel for Robo and is made on a massive budget of Rs 600 crores. Rajinikanth, Amy Jackson and Akshay Kumar are the lead actors in 2.0 and the film released in 3D in all the Indian languages on November 29th across the globe.
Despite of receiving thumping response from the audience, the collections have been disappointing. The theatrical rights are sold out for Rs 400 crores across the globe and the film raked Rs 228 crores in eight days across the globe. The film has to perform quite well to recover the investments. Surprisingly, the film’s collections have been quite low in Tamil Nadu and they have been good in North India. AP and Telangana theatrical rights have been valued at Rs 72 crores and the film raked Rs 41.70 crores in eight days.
