Superstar Rajinikanth who has been struggling for success pinned many hopes on 2.0 which is the costliest film in the actor’s career. Shankar is the director and Amy Jackson played the female lead. Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is the lead antagonist and 2.0 released in record number of screens across the globe. Leaving many in surprise, 2.0 raked low numbers during the opening day including the premieres.

The film picked up soon and raked 4 million USD in 6 six days. The collections have been decent even on weekdays. The USA theatrical rights for all the languages of 2.0 have been valued at 7 million USD and the film should perform well inorder to recover the investments. Lyca Productions produced 2.0 and AR Rahman composed the music.
