Why do cases against social media critics not stand?

Cartoonists use their unique characteristic of converting thoughts into a satirical image against the social and political issues. Sometimes the cartoons carry the sketches of politicians in a very satirical and objectionable manner.

Earlier, many cases were booked against cartoonists and social media critics and arrests were made. The courts commented strongly against the police for booking cases.

The two major cases were:

a)      The case against cartoonist Aseem Trivedi for portraying the Indian parliament as commode toilet.

b)      Case booked against two girls who commented and criticized against the bandh organized by Shiv Sena on Bal Thackery’s funeral.

In both the cases, The Delhi Court and Mumbai court granted bails and let accused go free.

Today’s arrest of  Facebook Page admin Inturi Ravi Kiran by Andhra Pradesh police and cases filed against him are possibly not going to stand in court. As the lawyers of accused will use the previous judgments of Mumbai and Delhi Courts.
