Superstar Rajinikanth surprised everyone after he signed a film in the direction of Karthik Subbaraj. The film has been titled Petta and is an action thriller. The regular shoot of Petta started in May and it has been wrapped up in record time. Rajinikanth revealed that the shoot of Petta has been wrapped up 15 days in advance than per the plan.

Vijay Sethupathi, Simran, Trisha, Sasikumar, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Bobby Simha played other interesting roles in Petta. The film will release during Sankranthi next year and is produced by Sun Pictures.
