Andhra Pradesh and Telangana governments are now facing flak from many rationalists and atheists as well as other sectors for taking up massive funding spree for the ongoing Krishna river’s Pushkaralu festival.
They feel that governments of the Telugu states are negating the spirit of the Constitution and promoting so called superstitions by splurging the people’s money for the festival.
AP has spent more than Rs 1,000 crore while Telangana has spent about 825 crore for various expenditures during the festival which started recently. It is being said that governments should not publicize devotion so much!
