Story:
The story happens in a Godavari based village called Rangasthalam in 1980s and it mainly confronts village politics. Chitti Babu (Ram Charan), a partially deaf guy lives with his family and works supplying water for farms. He falls in love with Rama Lakshmi (Samantha) and works hard to express his love for her. Right at the time, the village struggles under the hard clutches of President Phanindra Bhupathi (Jagapathi Babu), Chitti Babu’s brother Kumar Babu returns back from Dubai and decides to contest in elections. Ram Charan has been flawless as Chitti Babu and his work will sure be remembered for a long time. The actor shines as Chitti Babu and his screen presence, dialogue diction should be well appreciated. Samantha once again makes the audience fall in love with her performance. She has been apt and fit as a village belly. Anasuya Bharadwaj has been realistic and she topped the show with her limited presence. Jagapathi Babu, Prakash Raj and Aadhi Pinisetty have been natural and delivered out their best for the film. All the other actors have been supportive.
Rangasthalam has an interesting plot which has been narrated with utmost detailing. The screenplay and the dialogues looked outstanding. The music and the background score have been the film’s assets and the cinematography elevated the film well. Some of the episodes have been lavishly shot and the production values have been grand. Sukumar delivered out his best for Rangasthalam and his work will be lauded in the coming days.
Verdict:
Rangasthalam is sure one among the classics of Telugu cinema which will be remembered for a long time. Ram Charan and his team shined with perfection in the village based political thriller which should not be given a miss.
