Bhaagamathie Movie Review

Top actress Anushka who has been away from films is making her comeback with Bhaagamathie. Directed by G Ashok, Bhaagamathie is said to be a horror thriller and Anushka has been presented in two different roles as Bhaagamathie and Chanchala IAS. SS Thaman composed the music while UV Creations bankrolled this prestigious project. Bhaagamathie is hitting the screens today and here is the complete review of Bhaagamathie:

Story:

Bhaagamathie is the story of Chanchala IAS (Anushka) who is a trusted secretary to minister Eshwar Prasad (Jayaram). CBI manages to nab her for a case investigation and keeps her secretly in Bhaagamathie bungalow. In this process, Chanchala turns Bhaagamathie and the rest of the story is about the investigation and all about how Bhaagamathie and Chanchala are linked. Watch Bhaagamathie to know about the rest.

Analysis:

Bhaagamathie has a stunning and horrifying first half though it doesn’t have a strong plot to be narrated. The film has been banked mostly on the horror and Bhaagamathie bungalow. The parallel plot has been interesting which explains about the story of Chanchala before she lands in Bhaagamathie bungalow. The interval episodes will leave the audience in goosebumps and they make a strong impact. On the whole, the first half of Bhaagamathie tops the show and is impressive.

The second half of Bhaagamathie fails to live up the expectations as the major plot has been deviated. The political drama has been quite predictable and it makes no impact. As the film nears completion, the film gets hurried and fails to impress the audience. Some of the episodes have been unconvincing and the entire second half looks completely predictable. On the whole the second half of Bhaagamathie falls short of expectations.

Performance:

Anushka tops the show with her outstanding performance throughout the film. She has been exceptional as Bhaagamathie and excelled in the horror episodes. Murali Sharma is the other asset of the film and he has been supporting throughout. Jayaram plays a fearless minister’s role and he has been apt and natural. Unni Mukundan looks decent in the limited role and Asha Sharat looks stunning as a cop. All the other actors have been decent in their assignments.

The story of Bhaagamathie has been decent and it has been completely impressive. The screenplay and the dialogues look decent but fail to make much impact. The music and the background score suit the film’s mood. The cinematography tops the show and the production values have been lavish. G Ashok has been impressive with his directorial abilities.

Verdict:

Bhaagamathie is a decent horror thriller which has an impressive first half but falls short of expectations in the second half. Anushka and the lead actors shine in their assignments.
