Ilayathalapathy Vijay slowly made his mark in Telugu and the actor tested his luck with Whistle which released during Diwali. The film is directed Atlee and Vijay shines in three different roles in this action thriller. Whistle released across the globe in decent number of screens and the film received positive response from the audience.
Whistle collected a theatrical share of Rs 8.97 crores in its first week across the Telugu states. Nayanthara is the leading lady in this action drama and AR Rahman is the music composer. AGS Entertainments bankrolled the film. The Telugu theatrical rights of Whistle are sold for Rs 10 crores and the film needs to perform well in the second week to end up as a decent project.
