Kanam Movie Review

Naga Shaurya and Sai Pallavi joined hands for a supernatural thriller titled Kanam. Directed by AL Vijay, the movie has been shot in Telugu and Tamil simultaneously. Bankrolled by Lyca Productions, Kanam has been carrying decent expectations and the film released all over today. Here is the complete movie review:

Story:

Kanam is the story of lovely couple Tulasi (Sai Pallavi) and Krishna (Naga Shaurya) who fall in love and get married to each other. Busy with their professions, they get haunted for a mistake that they committed before marriage. The rest of Kanam is all about the mistake and how a series of murders wake them up. Watch Kanam movie to know about the complete story and the reason behind the crimes.

Positives:

Film’s theme
Emotional Drama
Climax
Stellar performances

Negatives:

Limited appeal
Slow pace
Lack of commercial ingredients

Performances:

Naga Shaurya who is riding high with the success of Chalo looks decent in the role of Krishna. His character is just supporting and it is Sai Pallavi who takes the major lead. She has been superb in the role of Thulasi especially in the emotional episodes. Baby Veronica has been outstanding in her limited presence and she makes a massive impact. All the other actors delivered out their best.

The story of Kanam has an interesting line that is a burning issue in the society. The screenplay has been decent and the dialogues look good. The music, background score elevated the film well and the cinematography is the movie’s major strength. The production values have been grand enough and the director AL Vijay steps out with one more poetic film that will impress a section of audience.

Final Word:

Kanam is sure an impressive film with a poetic narration but it will not impress all the sections of the audience because of the film’s limited theme.

Rating: 2.5/5
