Dear Comrade gets a cut in the runtime

Young actor Vijay Devarakonda’s recent outing Dear Comrade carried massive expectations and registered some stunning pre-release numbers. Dear Comrade released in all the South Indian languages on Friday and the film opened with a bang. But the film’s word of mouth turned out to be extremely negative because of the boring second half. The film looked dragged and the audience felt 2 hours 50 minutes is huge for a film like Dear Comrade.

The makers soon decided to chop off some of the episodes and the updates version got trimmed by 13 minutes. ‘The Canteen Song’ too was added in the updated version. Dear Comrade registered decent numbers over the first weekend. Mythri Movie Makers bankrolled Dear Comrade and Bharat Kamma made his directorial debut with this breezy romantic drama.
