The Marathi blockbuster “Sairat” is expected to be remade in Telugu and sources say it would be directed by Parasuram. This would be produced by Rockline Venkatesh from Sandalwood.

The film which was directed and also produced by Nagaraj Manjule showed the love story of a lower caste boy and a upper caste girl belonging to a landlord’s family.

The film emerged as the highest grossing film ever in the history of Marathi industry. Venkatesh is reportedly planning to remake the film even in Malayalam, Tamil and Kannada.
