India’s PV Sindhu eventually lost to the world No.1 Carolina Marin during the woman’s badminton singles final at Rio Olympics 2016, but she has already impressed a billion plus hearts!
PV Sindhu, was expected to reach the record of Abhinav Bindra, who was the first Indian sportsperson to secure individual gold medal at Olympics. Well she may not have secured gold but she got her place in the Olympic history.
Sindhu is now the fifth Indian woman to secure individual medal in the Olympics. Other players were Karnam Malleshwari, Mary Kom, Saina Nehwal and Sakshi Malik. There are celebrations all over in India for her!
