Superstar Rajinikath managed to wrap up two back to back films 2.0 and Kaala. While the first one is a sci-fi thriller, the later is a mass entertainer. 2.0 which has been announced for Diwali 2017 failed to hit the screens as scheduled and has been pushed away several times. The film is now officially out of summer race with a huge delay in the final VFX work. The film’s director Shankar is said to have informed the makers that the film will not make it for summer. Now Rajinikanth’s Kaala has been slated for summer release.
The makers announced the news officially that Kaala will hit the screens on April 27th and will take the advantage of the long weekend (May Day weekend). PA Ranjith directed Kaala and Rajinikanth plays the role of a don in the film. Nana Patekar, Eswari Rao, Huma Qureshi, Anjali Patil and Samuthirakani will be seen essaying other pivotal roles. While Wunderbar Films bankrolled this big budget film, Lyca Productions acquired the theatrical rights of Kaala.
