The film is currently under shoot and Anushka will be seen playing the role of yesteryear actress Bhanumathi.
Bhanumathi has been extremely well bonded to Savitri and has a crucial role. The makers felt Anushka would do justice for the role and signed her up. Keerthy Suresh is playing the lead role in Mahanati and Samantha, Vijay Devarakonda, Dulquer Salman played other pivotal roles. Nag Ashwin is the director and Vyjayanthi Movies are producing this prestigious project. Mahanati has been slated for summer release this year.
